2024/2025 Season - Spurrs All-Stars Tryouts

We hope you are having a great summer, so to top-up that, we would like to share some great news! Our Spurrs All-Stars tryout dates have been released.
What are the Spurrs All-Stars (AS) tryouts? It is what our top-level program will be called now, and it is where we will field either Premier or Championship teams, formerly known as PYL Tier 1 or Tier 2. In this league, we represent the SPURRS and the town of Portugal Cove - St Philips in the Provincial leagues!
For the players/parents who will have their first experience at this level, we would like to share some of the differences between All-Stars and Metro programs. At both, we field competitive teams, where attendance and commitment are highly expected. However, at AS level, players are expected also to commit to extra fitness sessions and increasing soccer IQ is necessary more than ever. A great group of coaches and technical team will surely help players achieve their optimal skills while having fun and enjoying the most played sport in the world. Metro teams also have some level of expected commitment and it is the bridge between the House League and All-Stars.
At the All-Stars tryouts players will be assessed by experienced evaluators who will look into players' not only technical, tactical and game knowledge, but also their fitness, coachability and sportsmanship skills. If a player does not make a team at the moment, they are encouraged to join the Spurrs Academy which runs from November to April, where they will learn and improve skills necessary to succeed on their following Metro season.
Below are the tryout days and times. Players are required to attend 2 out of the 3 sessions.
U12 - Players born in 2013 / *2014*
U13 - Players born in 2012 / 2013
U15 - Players born in 2010 / 2011
U17- Players born in 2008 / 2009
